Who is our client?
Are you a Specifications Technologist with experience of working with a range of retailer and foodservice businesses? Would you be interested in joining an established food business to support their Technical team for a 12 month period to cover maternity leave?
Our client is a privately owned business supplying a broad range of products to most of the major retailers with their biggest customers including Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons. They also work closely with a number of major food-service businesses.
The role requirements
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining all internal and customer/retailer specifications from raw materials through to finished goods.
You will manage a large supplier base (currently at around 300) and will be responsible for approval, risk assessments and traceability.
You will be a key point of contact for customer technical enquiries and will also provide general technical support to the rest of the team.
Please note that this is a 12 month contract to cover maternity leave to start in early November.
What sort of people are we looking for?
You will ideally be educated to HND or Degree level in Food Science of similar.
You will have previous experience of working in a Specifications role with a demonstrable knowledge and understanding of retailer systems, labelling requirements and current compliance and legal standards.
This is a busy, fast paced role so you will have excellent organisation and be able to work autonomously and prioritise your workload to meet the demands of the business and hit tight deadlines.
