You will be willing to undertake extensive travel, with time away from home in this national role.

The role requirements
You are a passionate, resilient and commercially aware candidate with demonstrable expertise in transforming and/or leading a transport / operational planning function.
You have demonstrable commercial experience in a similar environment i.e. Transport, Retail or Distribution.
Ideally you are educated to degree level and can lead by example and inspire others.
You are a natural negotiator and influencer who works with energy and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
You are comfortable and prosper in a highly competitive and pressurised operating environment.
You are based in the South East but willing to undertake extensive national travel.
What sort of people are we looking for?
In this role you will be responsible for driving the Continuous Improvement agenda across planning, reviewing its systems, processes and operational flow to ultimately reduce costs and improve service.
You will form part of the new leadership structure that defines, creates and delivers the transformation strategy for operational / transport planning.
You will deliver large scale projects that incorporate innovative solutions to address business challenges within its infrastructure.
You will attend senior leadership team meetings, as well as monthly specialist skills “building workshops” which will be delivered by the Senior Leadership team along with guidance and mentoring from the Executive team.
You will review operational planning systems (PARAGON) to identify opportunities for improvement and process mapping.
You will also review reverse logistics flows across the business to identify any opportunities for process simplification.
