You will have demonstrable senior experience in a fast paced operational / transport planning environment and be willing to undertake nationwide travel in this newly created role. The role requirements

You are a passionate, resilient and commercially aware candidate with demonstrable expertise in delivering and/or leading a transport / operational planning function into a changing network.

You can demonstrate formal process management / programme management skills.

You have demonstrable commercial acumen and experience in a similar environment: Transport, Logistics, Retail or Distribution.

You are resilient and can lead by example and inspire others.

You are comfortable and prosper in a highly competitive and pressurised operating environment.

You are based in the South East but willing to undertake extensive national travel.

What sort of people are we looking for?

In this role you will be responsible for leading the Network Planning Function.

You will create an environment of Continuous Improvement as you seek out service and cost improvement opportunities.

You will support the on boarding of new clients/customers in the early days and seek to improve SLA performance.

You will work as part of a new cohesive unit to optimise the end to end proposition for the business.

You will look to create strong Peer to Peer relationships, identifying cross functional opportunities for improvement.

You will also review logistics flows and analytics across the business to identify any opportunities for process simplification using the best market intelligence available.
