Our client, part of an international group, is a well-respected market leader, providing design, manufacture, install and maintenance support of bespoke commercial and industrial refrigeration technologies/ equipment. Now with in excess of 100 years of consistent and unrivalled service in their industry, it’s no surprise they have an accumulated wealth of long standing and loyal client relationships. Due to continued expansion, our client is now looking to take on a Design & Proposals Engineer to have responsibility for quoting and securing circa £2m per annum of profitable contracting works relating to refrigeration and process cooling installations.

Widen the customer base to include new contracts and customers within the refrigeration industry.

Support contracts engineer(s) with designs, purchasing and contract management.

Accurately estimate projects identifying the correct bespoke solution to meet the customer's requirements.

Work with the SE Area Manager to ensure maximum coverage within the territory, and to secure the required level of contracting business.

Carry out designs and proposals, discussing and agreeing sales margins with management and ensuring that these margins are achieved.

Correctly plan and meet time markers in processing enquiries to ensure our client meets its customer's commitments.

Assist and exercise proper control over work in progress, ensuring timely job completion.

Ensure that our client’s technical and safety standards are maintained, and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.

Verification of supplier invoicing against orders raised and the preparation of a detailed sales invoice(s), in accordance with our client’s operating procedures.

Accurately evaluate contract performance, to report on this performance monthly and to accurately forecast short-term future business.

Must have good technical knowledge, and experience in large commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.

3+ years technical sales and quoting experience with all aspects of refrigeration and air conditioning is essential (mechanical and electrical).

You must have served a recognised apprenticeship (mechanical and/or electrical) plus minimum 5+ years as/or Proposals / design / contacts / project engineer.

You must be a good communicator with the ability to work with, inspire and lead a range of different people within the client organisation.
