Our client, part of an international group, is a well-respected market leader, providing design, manufacture, install and maintenance support of bespoke commercial and industrial refrigeration technologies/ equipment. They have an exceptional reputation for system quality, reliability and efficiency. Now with in excess of 100 years of consistent and unrivalled service in their industry, it’s no surprise they have an accumulated wealth of long standing and loyal client relationships. Due to continued expansion, our client is now looking to take on a Sales & Applications Engineer to have responsibility securing circa £400k of profitable regional contract works relating to refrigeration and process cooling installations.

The role requirements

Grow the customer base to include new contacts and customers within the refrigeration industry.

Contract execution involving design, purchasing and contract management.

Accurately estimate projects identifying the correct bespoke solution to meet the customer’s needs.

Allocate sub-contract labour for the installation of the contract, with specific responsibility for satisfactory technical and financial results.

Work with the SE Area Manager to ensure maximum coverage within the territory to secure the required level of regional contracting business.

Carry out design and project management, discussing and agreeing sales margins with Manager, ensuring that these margins are achieved and maintained at contract completion.

Correctly plan the project execution process to ensure our Client meets its contractual Commitments.

Manage work in progress, ensuring speedy job completion.

Ensure that our Client’s technical and safety standards are maintained, and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.

Ensure that engineering training is being carried out in accordance with Company policy.

Responsible for first line operation of our Client’s grievance, discipline and accident reporting procedure.

Responsible for verification of supplier invoicing against orders raised and the preparation of a detailed sales invoice(s), in accordance with our Client’s operating procedures.

What sort of people are we looking for?

3+ years technical sales and quoting experience with all aspects of refrigeration and air conditioning is essential (mechanical and electrical).

You must have served a recognised apprenticeship (mechanical and/or electrical) plus minimum 2+ years as a Service Engineer/ Technician.

You must be a good communicator with the ability to work with, inspire and lead a range of different people within the client organisation.
