Who is our client?

My client are a designer and manufacturer of specialist safety products and they are immediately seeking to appoint an Accounts Assistant. Reporting into the Group Management Accountant you will be based at their HQ in West Yorkshire and the successful candidate will be providing day-to-day support to the Finance Department.

The role requirements

You will be posting inter-company purchase invoices as well as allocating bank receipts and bank payments for overseas territories.

You will be controlling and analysing the business performance of their international entities

You will also regularly assist with the input of UK sales orders and invoicing.

You will also assist with controlling the fixed asset register and posting depreciations.

You will need to communicate regularly with overseas entities for updates on Aged Debt and “Shipped Not Invoiced”.

You will be assisting with the generation of local VAT returns and other statutory submissions too.

You will be supporting systems implementations and upgrades when required.

What sort of people are we looking for?

You have previous Accounts Assistant, or similar demonstrable experience.

You have a good working knowledge of accounting systems.

You possess strong IT skills, particularly in Excel (i.e. V-Lookups etc).

It would be highly advantageous if you have previous experience of working within a group/organisation that has inter-company transactions.

It would be highly desirable if you have a relevant qualification (i.e. Part AAT) or even a related degree, with the ambition to study further.
