Who is our client?
Our client is an established, market leading food manufacturer which produces a broad range of well known, branded products. As a business, they offer excellent training and career development opportunities and they’re now looking for an electrical engineer with strong PLC experience to join their engineering team and play a key role in driving performance and reliability.
The role requirements
Working as part of the site maintenance team you will be responsible for ensuring a high level of engineering service is provided to the business at all times.
You will work with a high level of autonomy, following PPM schedules and responding quickly to breakdowns in order to minimise downtime and improve performance.
The site is heavily PLC driven so you will be using your fault-finding and programming skills regularly as well as maintaining a broad range of food production and packaging equipment.
You will take part in Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives, constantly looking for new and more effective ways of working in order to drive engineering asset reliability.
Shift pattern: double days - Monday to Friday (rotating 0600-1400, 1400-2200)
What sort of people are we looking for?
You will be an apprentice trained, electrical engineer with experience of working in engineering maintenance roles and, preferably, with further relevant qualifications (HNC or above).
A background in food manufacturing would be ideal but our client will also consider engineers from other FMCG manufacturing industries.
You will have strong PLC experience (ideally, you will be able to programme) using Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Siemens or IDEC.
In addition to your planned/reactive experience, you will have a sound knowledge and understanding of a range of tools, techniques and methodologies (eg; 5S, Lean, Kaizen, TPM).
