Who is our client?

We're working with an established food manufacturing business which produces a broad range of products for a number of retailers and foodservice customers. The business has a strong reputation for product quality and offers great opportunities for further training and career development. They’re now looking for an Engineering Manager to join their site management team and play a key role in driving business performance.

The role requirements

Reporting to the Factory Manager, you will lead a multi-skilled engineering team and be responsible for all aspects of engineering and maintenance across a fast paced food manufacturing business.

You will be responsible for developing robust PPM schedules, achieving all departmental KPIs, developing people and leading change while ensuring all food safety and legal standards are adhered to at all times.

You will promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging your team to proactively look for new, more effective ways of working.

You will develop your team through ongoing training and coaching, working to ensure that they have the skills and behaviours required to provide the business with a high level of engineering support.

What sort of people are we looking for?

You will have proven experience of leading engineering teams in a food, drink or FMCG manufacturing environment with a strong track record in achieving targets and delivering improvements.

Proactive in your approach, you will be a ‘hands on’ manager with demonstrable experience in developing teams and individuals.

You will be able to influence and communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels across the business in order to develop a culture of collaboration and teamwork in order to drive performance and improve engineering reliability.

Health & Safety is paramount so you will be able to talk about how you’ve improved HSE standards during your career with formal qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH) being an advantage.
