Who is our client?

We're working with an established food manufacturing business which produces a broad range of products for retailers and foodservice customers. The business has a strong reputation for product quality and offers great opportunities for further training and career development. As part of their ongoing growth, they’re now looking for a high calibre engineering supervisor to join their team.

The role requirements

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 8 engineers in a fast paced, high volume food manufacturing business.

Your main responsibility will be to ensure a high level of engineering service is provided to the business at all times, working to improve engineering reliability and minimise downtime.

You and your team will perform planned and reactive maintenance tasks, undertake CI projects and initiatives, and support new installations and Capex projects while ensuring best practice is followed at all times.

You will ensure all personal and team KPIs are achieved, working to promote a culture of continuous improvement to drive engineering performance and improve on current methods and processes.

Shift pattern - 4 on/off (days).

What sort of people are we looking for?

You will be an electrically biased, apprentice trained engineer (ideally qualified to HNC level or above) with experience of leading engineering maintenance teams in a food or drink manufacturing environment. Formal Health & Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH) would also be an advantage.

You will have demonstrable experience of leading and developing people, achieving KPIs, working with and coordinating onsite contractors, stock control, and continuous improvement.

Proactive in your approach, you will encourage your team to look for new and improved ways of working and be prepared to challenge the status-quo.

You will be somebody who is keen to progress and will be open to ongoing training and development.

Above all, you will be a team player and will be able to work closely with colleagues at all levels across the business.
