Who is our client?
My client is a leading distributor of construction related products and they are seeking to appoint an Inventory Analyst immediately. You will be working out of their busy distribution hub in the Thames Estuary / Essex area. The successful candidate will be responsible for forecasting, planning, coordinating, managing and running an efficient inventory level for a depot and a cluster of local branches.
The role requirements
You will be responsible for analysing inventory data and interpreting information using system tools to forward plan material/inventory requirements.
You will will be responsible for building rapport with suppliers, maximising the level of service they provide and reporting on supplier performance.
You will be managing and updating stock profiles, accounting for changes in customer demand and supplier suitability etc.
You will assist in the forecasting, planning and ordering of purchase targets, aiding local and national rebate initiatives.
With a strong emphasis on materials and stock planning, you will need to work closely with the transport planner/manager.
You will need to work closely with the sales and senior management teams.
You will work with the Head of Inventory to analyse data from KPI’s and events to explore ways of maintaining or improving performance.
What sort of people are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in a busy supply chain / inventory or materials environment.
You are highly proficient in IT and analytical skills, including Microsoft Excel to an advanced level.
It is highly advantageous if you have had some experience of an ERP system but full training on the ERM system used will be given.
You have very strong communications skills, (written and verbal), and the ability to interpret data, and able to work in a continually changing, fast paced distribution environment.
