Who is our client?

My client are a designer and manufacturer of specialist safety products and they are immediately seeking to appoint a Production Planner. Reporting into the Materials and Planning Manager you will be based at their HQ in West Yorkshire. The successful candidate will help ensure picking, production and dispatch targets are met.

The role requirements

You will be supporting and engaging across all related Materials and Planning activities.

You will be a driving force in the development of both processes and people.

You will provide day to day practical help (and input) into the scheduling and planning tasks.

You will ensure continuity in the critical planning duties and provide first line support when required.

You will report the daily, weekly and monthly dispatch and picking figures.

You will support the Materials and Planning Manager enabling a ‘best practice’ Supply Chain strategy and cost reduction activities.

You will develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively to ensure Materials and Planning objectives are being met.

You will help manage and maintain accurate information/master data that’s related to planning and purchasing, ensuring it is stored on the ERP and Scheduling systems.

What sort of people are we looking for?

You have the desire to drive improvements through change and challenging inefficiencies.

You have strong planning experience in a multi-line/complex production manufacturing environment.

You can demonstrate good knowledge of MRP and other materials management techniques and systems.

You have ‘customer focused’ supply chain experience with a knowledge of lean principles.

You have knowledge and/or an understanding of the day to day planning/production activities and of concepts around manufacturing principles.

You are flexible in your approach and you are able to quickly learn and adapt to changing circumstances.
