Are you an apprentice trained engineer with a mechanical bias? Do you have experience of working autonomously in planned & reactive maintenance roles? Would you be interested in joining a leading FMCG business with a great reputation for product quality and customer service?
Our client is an established, well known business in the food & drinks industry. This role is based at one of their two main production sites and they manufacture a broad range of leading, branded products. Due to an internal move, they now have a vacancy in their engineering team for a well qualified, mechanical engineer.
The role requirements
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be a key part of a team responsible for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of production and packaging equipment.
You will carry out PPMs and also participate in CI initiatives across the site, working to improve reliability and increase performance.
You will respond quickly to breakdowns and will work to identify and address recurring problems.
Shift pattern (Monday to Friday): 0600-1400, 1400-2200, 2200-0600
What sort of people are we looking for?
You will be an apprentice trained, mechanically biased Engineer with previous experience of working in maintenance roles in a food, drink or FMCG manufacturing environment.
Experience of maintaining packaging equipment (bottling, canning, kegging, cartons, liquid fill) would be an advantage but is not essential.
You will have basic electrical skills and experience of PLC controlled equipment.
Confident in your approach, you will be comfortable working with a degree of autonomy and will be able to prioritise your work in order to hit strict deadlines.
