Who is our client?
Are you an apprentice trained Engineer with experience of working in maintenance roles in the food & drinks industry? Are you multi-skilled with strong electrical knowledge and fault finding skills? Would you be interested in developing your career with a major food manufacturing business?
Our client is an established food manufacturing business with an excellent reputation for quality and service. Operating from a number of sites, they supply a broad range of products to all of the major UK retailers. They’re now looking for a well-qualified Engineer to join one of their key manufacturing sites and provide a high level of engineering support.
The role requirements
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be part of a team responsible for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of a range of production and packaging machinery across a large, fast paced food manufacturing site.
You will undertake PPM duties and also respond quickly to any breakdowns in order to minimise downtime and maintain production.
You will work closely with colleagues in production, training them so that they can undertake basic maintenance tasks and also highlight any potential issues and problems.
You will constantly look for new and improved ways of working, highlighting and developing potential CI and waste reduction opportunities.
Please note that this is a night-shift based role.
What sort of people are we looking for?
You will be a time served apprentice who has ideally gone on to achieve other relevant qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND, 17th Edition, Food Safety, HACCP, Hygiene, IOSH).
You will have demonstrable knowledge of working with a range of food manufacturing and packing equipment - experience of pneumatics, utilities and steam distribution would be an advantage.
You will preferably have experience of fault finding using PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens).
Confident in your approach, you will be comfortable training and developing operators in basic maintenance tasks and will be able to work with colleagues at all levels across the business.
You will be a team player, but also comfortable working with a level of autonomy.
