Who is our client?

Our client is a leading business in the food and drinks industry, producing a range of leading brands and retailer label products. Part of a wider group, they’re now looking for two mechanically biased engineers to join their engineering team at their production facility in the North-West.

The role requirements

Working as part of the site engineering team you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of a range of manufacturing and packaging equipment across a high volume, fast paced manufacturing business.

You will follow PPM schedules and also respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and ensure a high level of service is provided.

You will work closely with production teams, helping to coach and train operators so that problems can be identified quickly and changeover times are minimised.

You will partake in CI and RCA initiatives, constantly looking for new and improved ways of working in order to drive engineering asset reliability and performance.

The role follows a ‘3 shift’ pattern (0600-1400 / 1400-2200 / 2200-0600 rotating on a weekly basis).

What sort of people are we looking for?

You will be an apprentice trained mechanical engineer, preferably with further relevant qualifications (HNC or higher).

You will have worked in maintenance roles in food and drink manufacturing, with experience of packaging (fillers, labellers etc.) being an advantage.

In addition to your planned/reactive experience, you will have a sound knowledge and understanding of a range of tools, techniques and methodologies (5S, Lean, Kaizen, TPM).

Experience of working on CI projects would be an advantage.

Confident in your approach, you will be able to work as part of a team and with colleagues from production/operations and other departments.
