Who is our client?
We're working with a multinational food business which operates out of three sites in the UK. One of the market leaders in their field, they produce a broad range of branded products and also develop high quality products for all of the major retailers.
They’re now looking for a high-calibre engineer to join them at one of their key manufacturing sites and play a key role in driving engineering reliability and performance.
The role requirements
Reporting to the Engineering Maintenance Manager you will be part of a team responsible for ensuring a high level of engineering service is provided to the business at all times and downtime is kept to a minimum.
You will be undertaking planned maintenance activities, responding to breakdowns, getting involved in CI initiatives, and working on Capex projects.
You’ll also work closely with colleagues across the business, identifying and remedying long term or recurring engineering issues to improve performance and efficiencies.
Shift pattern: 4 on/off (days/nights).
What sort of people are we looking for?
You will be an apprentice trained, a multi-skilled engineer with experience of working in maintenance roles in a food, drink or FMCG manufacturing environment (preferably with HNC/HND qualifications, or above).
Proactive in your approach, you will be somebody who is keen to look for new, improved ways of working and is able to challenge the status quo and work closely with colleagues at all levels across the business.
You will have experience of a range of lean manufacturing techniques and CI methodologies (eg, 5S, Kaizen, SMED, TPM).
Relevant qualifications - 17th Edition, HACCP, Food Safety, IOSH - would also be an advantage.
