Who is our client?

Our client is an established, family owned business in the food & drinks industry with a strong reputation for product quality. Operating out of two sites in the Manchester area, they’re now looking for multi-skilled engineers to join their maintenance team and play a crucial role in improving performance and reliability.

The role requirements

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be part of a team providing a high level of engineering support to the operational teams through the ongoing maintenance and improvement of a range of production and packaging equipment.

You will undertake planned maintenance tasks, respond quickly to breakdowns and also play a key part in the site’s CI programme.

You will coach and train operators to help improve performance and reliability.

Shift Pattern - Days based (8 hours with rotating start times), Monday to Friday.

What sort of people are we looking for?

Our client is looking for somebody who is proactive and is able to identify and remedy recurring or long term issues in order to drive performance.

You will be apprentice trained, multi-skilled engineer (electrical or mechanical bias) with experience of working in maintenance roles in food, drink or FMCG manufacturing.

You will have experience of a number of modern manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methodologies (5S, SMED, TPM).

Experience of fault finding using PLC’s would be an advantage as would a relevant Health & Safety qualification (eg, IOSH)
