Who is our client?
Our client is a leading business in the food and drinks industry, producing a range of well known brands and retailer label products. Part of a wider group, they’re now looking to expand their engineering team and have opportunities for electrically and mechanically biased engineers at one of their key production sites.
The role requirements
Working as part of the site engineering team you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of a range of manufacturing and packaging equipment across a high volume, fast paced food business.
You will follow PPM schedules and also respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime and ensure a high level of service is provided.
You will work closely with production teams, helping to coach and train operators so that problems can be identified quickly and changeover times are minimised.
You will partake in CI and RCA initiatives, constantly looking for new and improved ways of working in order to drive engineering asset reliability and performance.
Shift patterns - Electrically biased (Continentals), Mechanically biased (Weekends).
What sort of people are we looking for?
You will be an apprentice trained engineer, preferably with further relevant qualifications (HNC or higher).
You will have experience of working in engineering maintenance roles, ideally in food and drink although other FMCG manufacturing backgrounds will be considered.
In addition to your planned/reactive experience, you will have a sound knowledge and understanding of a range of tools, techniques and methodologies (5S, Lean, Kaizen, TPM).
Experience of working on CI projects would be an advantage.
Confident in your approach, you will be able to work as part of a team and with colleagues from production/operations and other departments.
