We’re working with a market leading food manufacturing business who, as a result of ongoing growth, are looking for NPD Technologists to join their development team. The business offers a great working environment with excellent facilities and opportunities for further training and career development both at this site and across the wider group.

They’re now looking for two technologists and will welcome applications from recent graduates who want to start a career in product development or more experienced NPD specialists looking for a new challenge.

Reporting to the NPD Manager you will work as part of a growing team responsible for developing products from initial concept through to launch.

You will be working with and developing products for all of the major retailers and will be involved in the full development lifecycle. The role is varied so you’ll be you will be producing samples, working on specifications, maintaining relevant documentation, leading trials and acting as a key point of contact for all customers.

You will also be supporting the technical function and working closely with colleagues in production and engineering to ensure products are delivered on time and at agreed costs/specifications.

Ideally qualified to degree level in Food Science, or similar, you will have previous experience of working in NPD roles in the food industry. Chilled experience would be ideal but is not essential.

Creative in your approach, you will be able to come up with new and innovative ideas to ensure the business remains a leader in their field and stays ahead of competitors.

You will have a concept to launch background and a sound understanding of the full development process.

Customer focused, you will be comfortable presenting to customers and will also be able to develop strong relationships with colleagues and customers at all levels.

Qualifications in HACCP, Food Safety and Health & Safety would also be an advantage.
