Who is our client?

Our client is an established food manufacturing business going through a period of sustained growth which has seen turnover almost double during the last 4 years. The site produces a broad range of branded and own-label products (they deal with nearly all of the main UK retailers) and has around 75% of the market share in their category.

Part of a multinational food group, they’re now looking for an experienced manager to join their site leadership team and play a key role in driving performance, improving efficiencies and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

The role requirements

Reporting to the Operations Director you will lead a large team with direct reports in Production, Hygiene and Warehousing, working to ensure all departmental KPIs and targets are met.

As part of the site leadership team, you will play a key role in determining and implementing strategy and contributing to the overall performance of the business.

Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will look for ways of improving efficiencies, minimising waste, and reducing costs.

You will drive behavioural change, coaching and mentoring your teams to improve performance and create an environment where they constantly look for new and improved ways of working.



What sort of people are we looking for?

You will have previous experience of working in Production/Operations Manager roles in food manufacturing, with a strong record in achieving KPIs, developing people, and continuous improvement

The role is all about leadership so we’re looking for a strong manager who can engage with their teams, helping them to improve through ongoing coaching and mentoring.

You will be able to lead and manage change; the site is growing quickly so you’ll need to ensure that your team is prepared and able to adapt.

You will have a strong Continuous Improvement background and have demonstrable experience of using CI techniques to deliver improvements to processes and people.

This is a fast paced, demanding business so you’ll need to be results driven, highly organised and able to adapt quickly.
