Who is our client?
My client is a manufacturer of wire and coatings products and they are immediately seeking an Operations Manager to work closely with the GM. Reporting into the General Manager you will be working from their facility in West Yorkshire and the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and achieving all site activities, ensuring operational expectations and delivery targets are achieved.
The role requirements
Your main focus will be to improve output and drive the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for all machines and equipment.
You will be accountable for all operational activities on the site..
You will standardise working methods and procedures, organised in a way that ensures they are easily understood, consistently followed, and improved on by all team members.
You will assist in the implementation and evolution of the Building Management System (BMS)
You will support and drive all site continuous improvement strategies.
You will look to improve quality, in line with company standards.
You will lead all engineering development projects and maintenance.
What sort of people are we looking for?
As the successful candidate you have at least 5 years “hands on” experience in a similar manufacturing/engineering environment.
You have the ability to quickly learn and understand company processes and procedures as you look to move the operation forward.
You are able to demonstrate your use of initiative, assertiveness, budget control and strategic mindset in your previous roles.
You can demonstrate familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques, quality systems and you are Six Sigma trained.
You have “big picture” mentality with a proven track record of problem solving using root cause analysis tools.
