Who is our client?

Our client is a leading specialist food manufacturer of well known brands. Due to a recent departure they immediately require a Procurement Manager - Packaging. This role will suit an individual with a minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similar Purchasing role. You will be responsible for the purchasing of all packaging materials across several sites and a budget in excess of £8M and 40+ suppliers. There will be Regular UK Travel to the various sites

The role requirements

Working closely with the Head of Procurement, you will manage and deliver budget spend across the packaging category.

You will negotiate and execute packaging agreements ensuring the very best terms of trade.

You will build strong supplier relationships ensuring that robust contracts, pricing agreements and SLAs are in place.

You will review suppliers and ensure that they are all operating within the businesses code of conduct.

You will work closely with other functions to expedite deliveries and resolve any quality issues as and when required.

What sort of people are we looking for?

You can demonstrate previous experience of the procurement/purchasing of packaging materials.

The ideal candidate will be working or have worked in a busy, fast paced food / drink / fmcg manufacturing environment.

You have strong communication skills with the ability maintain and develop strong relationships.

You are a logical thinker with a good decision making process and an understanding of e-procurement tools would be a distinct advantage.

You are degree calibre, CIPS or part CIPS qualified.
