Who is our client?

Our client is a market leading food manufacturer supplying a broad range of innovative products to a number of major retailers. The role is based at a large, complex site which produces in excess of 200 product lines and, as a result of ongoing growth, they are now looking for a Quality Manager with extensive HACCP experience to join their large Technical team at their main production site and head office.

The role requirements

Reporting to the Site Technical Manager, you will lead a small team and be responsible for the ongoing development of the site’s Quality Management and HACCP systems.times.

You will assess and work to continually improve HACCP flows, working collaboratively with operational teams as well as leading and coordinating the HACCP team and focus groups.

You will ensure that all departmental KPIs are achieved and will promote a culture of continuous improvement in order to improve performance and reduce customer complaints.

You and your team will also be a key point of contact for retailer customers and will be responsible for investigating the root cause of customer complaints.

You will also manage the internal audit programme.

What sort of people are we looking for?

Ideally educated to degree level in Food Science, or similar, you will have a strong background in quality management positions in food manufacturing.

We are specifically looking for a HACCP specialist who can manage and prioritise a busy workload and work with cross-functional teams to improve HACCP flows by promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Strong IT skills will be required as a key part of the role will be to ensure a smooth transition away from paper based systems.

Confident in your approach, you will have strong communication skills and will be able to influence and, where necessary, challenge colleagues at all levels across the business to ensure quality and food safety standards and processes are adhered to at all times.

You will have extensive experience of working with major UK retailers (ideally including M&S).

You will also have Food Safety Level 4 and Advanced HACCP qualifications as well as a thorough knowledge and understanding of BRC v7/v8.
