My client is a constantly evolving and highly reputable 3rd Party Logistics organisation who specialise across omni channel distribution within the Retail and FMCG sectors. You have demonstrable previous operational management experience and come from a similar warehousing or distribution environment. You are able to win hearts and minds as you look to implement and manage change. This role is required as the business continues to target and win more business as it enjoys significant growth.
The role requirements
As the successful candidate you will have demonstrable experience in a similar fast paced and demanding Logistics environment.
You are a strong and vibrant leader with expertise across Warehousing, Logistics and Operations.
You are commercially aware and astute with a strategically orientated mindset.
You can demonstrate previous P&L / budgetary responsibility and accountability.
You have an appreciation and understanding of Lean, Six Sigma and 5S operations.
You are likely to be CPC qualified and it would be highly advantageous if you also hold a lean six sigma qualification, or at least a strong vested interest in Lean activity.
You can also demonstrate a proven track record of coaching and nurturing talent as you develop a focussed and dynamic workforce as you look to develop your team.
Being a strong communicator is essential as you will approach pressure situations in a calm, measured and consistent manner.
You always lead by example in this extremely focussed and driven distribution environment.
What sort of people are we looking for?
This is a newly created senior position with responsibility for Operations, some Strategic Planning as well as some Key Account Management dealings too.
You will use your financial and P&L knowledge to look at potential cost reductions and recommend any facility or site layout improvements etc.
You will motivate your team to consistently achieve high standards of productivity and operational KPIs whilst consistently promoting teamwork and morale.
You will ensure that all Health & Safety processes are adhered to, as well as leading initiatives in quality, efficiency, cost and implementation of action plans.
You will continually manage the site to its optimum.
You will look to increase customer satisfaction across the various contracts, identifying any process and procedural improvements.
