Who is our client?
Our client is an established, multi-site food manufacturing business supplying a broad range of products to most of the major retailers and foodservice businesses. This role is at one of their key production sites and, due to significant investment and ongoing growth, they are looking for a Shift Production Manager with strong people skills to join their manufacturing team. Due to the size of the site and progressive nature of the business, they offer great opportunities for further professional development.
The role requirements
Reporting to the Production Manager you will lead a large shift team in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of your team, ensuring that KPIs are achieved and that they are motivated and engaged at all times.
Coaching and development is a key part of this role and you will support your team by providing training and guidance to help drive individual and team performance.
You will promote a culture of continuous improvement, supporting the Production Manager in CI activities and encouraging your team to challenge the status-quo.
What sort of people are we looking for?
You will have experience of leading shift production teams in the food industry and proven track record in hitting targets and developing teams and people.
Confident in your approach, you will have excellent leadership skills and will be able to lead, coach and motivate others.
This is a demanding role in an environment where no two days are the same, so you will need to be somebody who is flexible and can adapt quickly in order to meet tight deadlines.
Health and safety is paramount and while IOSH qualifications, or above, would be ideal it is more important that you have demonstrable experience of improving and developing H&S standards.
