Who is our client?
Our client is an established food manufacturer operating out of two sites in the UK supplying a range of products to a number of major retailers and food-service customers. They’re now looking for a Site Technical Manager to join their leadership team and play a key role in driving standards and business growth.
The role requirements
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for all Technical and Quality activities across the site, working to ensure all legislative, customer and business standards are adhered to at all times.
This is a ‘hands on’ leadership role, so in addition to leading your team you will be improving quality management systems, resolving customer complaints, reviewing HACCP systems, leading internal audits as well as dealing with customers and external bodies.
You will be a key point of contact for all customers and will ensure that the site is audit ready at all times.
You will also lead, coach and develop a relatively small Technical team, working with them to promote a proactive, customer focused culture.
What sort of people are we looking for?
You will have prior experience of leading Technical teams in a food manufacturing environment and, ideally, be educated to degree level in Food Science or similar although strong technical experience is more important.
You will have a strong background in BRC, retailer audits, HACCP and demonstrable knowledge and understanding of food safety legislation.
This role would suit an existing Technical Manager looking for a new challenge or an experienced Quality Manager looking for career progression.
