Who is our client?
Our client is a market leading food manufacturer supplying a broad range of innovative products to a number of major retailers. The role is based at a large, complex site which produces in excess of 200 product lines and, as a result of ongoing growth, they are now looking for a Factory Technical Manager to drive performance and play a key role in improving technical and quality standards.
The role requirements
Reporting to the Head of Technical, you will lead a team responsible for technical standards/policies and quality management systems across a busy, fast paced food manufacturing environment.
Working closely with other departments (NPD, operations, engineering etc.) you will continue to develop a food safety culture and ensure appropriate quality standards are in place.
You and your team will ensure that the site is always audit ready and that retailer, BRC, legal and internal standards are constantly adhered to.
You will coach, mentor and develop your team, promoting a CI focused culture in order to ensure all departmental KPIs are met.
You will be a key contact for retailer customers, working to resolve and minimise complaints.
What sort of people are we looking for?
Ideally educated to degree level in Food Science, or similar, you will have prior experience of working in a Technical or Quality Manager role.
You will have a demonstrable knowledge of customer technical standards and a proven track record in BRC and retailer audits.
This is a busy, high profile role so you will be highly motivated, proactive and able to prioritise a busy workload in order to meet business objectives.
Confident in your approach, you will have strong communication skills and will be able to influence and, where necessary, challenge colleagues at all levels across the business to ensure quality and food safety standards and processes are adhered to at all times.

BRCv8 experience would be ideal, as would Advanced HACCP and Food Safety Level 4.
