Who is our client?
Our client is an established food manufacturing business producing a number of well known, leading brands. They also supply a broad range of own label products to most of the major retailers. Part of a wider group, they are now looking for a Technical Manager to join the leadership team at one of their key production sites.
The role requirements
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for all technical, quality and hygiene standards across a large, fast paced food manufacturing site.
You will manage the Technical team and also work closely with colleagues across the business to promote and instil a quality focused culture.
You will develop the site’s technical strategy so that food quality and safety is never compromised and that legal, regulatory and retailer standards are adhered to at all times.
You will be a key point of contact for retailer customers and external regulatory bodies.
You will also share best practice with Technical Managers at other sites across the group.
What sort of people are we looking for?
Ideally educated to degree level in Food Science of similar, you will have experience of working as a Technical Manager or Quality Manager in a food manufacturing business.
You will have demonstrable experience of leading and developing technical teams and a proven track record in driving food safety standards.
Confident in your approach, you will be able to communicate effectively with and, if necessary, challenge colleagues at all levels in order to ensure the technical/quality agenda is delivered.
You will have a proven track record in passing BRC and retailer audits, developing relationships with retailers and a thorough knowledge of food safety legislation.
