Who is our client?

My client manufactures and distributes a range of steel cladding, roofing and structural products to the agricultural and steel building sectors. They are seeking to appoint a Technical Services Manager immediately to work out of their site in the Carlisle area. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering their technical strategy across Building Solutions.

The role requirements

You will develop and deliver a technical strategy ensuring a focus on key product areas, risk, market dynamics, regulation changes and new product development.

You will build and deliver a technical and product training package, applicable to related products and sectors.

You will support the personal development of colleagues across the business and its customer base.

You will manage product testing and once complete the applicable test evidence needs to be appropriately commercialised to support the wider sales activity of the business.

You will have full responsibility for all technical aspects within the business, producing technical bulletins and “white papers” to support all marketing and sales activity

You will have responsibility for correctly updating technical elements of any marketing collateral including (but not limited to): data sheets, NBS Specs, literature, CPD content etc.

You will continually drive the technical strategy to capture evolving product needs, technical developments, architectural and design trends and evolving legislation changes.

What sort of people are we looking for?

The successful candidate is an experienced Technical Services Manager with a proven track record of leveraging significant market experience to develop and grow a long term technical strategy.

You have demonstrable experience and an in-depth understanding of manufacturing and distribution within the construction sector.

You have a proactive focus with a strong technical orientation as well as a proven ability to recognise and manage technical risk.

You have the ability to manage technical / market compliance ensuring that they evolve their product and technical services offering in-line with, or ahead of any regulatory changes

You have an excellent understanding of technical guidance documents and building control guidance that are applicable to your area of responsibility.
