Transport Planner

My client is a highly reputable national distribution organisation who are currently undergoing a restructure due to growth. You have demonstrable transport planning skills with the ability to plan and amend delivery schedules. You are an experienced Transport Planner with demonstrable experience.

You will plan vehicles ensuring optimisation of revenue whilst taking into account customer requirements and relevant legislation.

You will need to be able to maintain good working relationships with customers and a consistent flow of communication.

You will keep an accurate record of delivery failures / rejections and re-bookings.

You are aware of all current transport legislation and procedures to ensure company compliance.

You will ‘progress chase’ client deliveries, adjusting plans to take into account changing situations, traffic delays and unforeseen circumstances.

As the successful candidate you will have demonstrable experience in a similar fast paced and demanding ‘specialised’ Logistics environment.

You have demonstrable transport planning experience in a fast paced 3PL / FMCG / distribution / logistics environment.

You possess good geographical knowledge of the UK.

You have demonstrable experience of routing software / TMS.

You have strong communication skills, show attention to detail with good organisational skills.

You have the ability to work with different levels of people and stakeholders within a business environment.

Strong Transport Planning / Routing system knowledge and / or experience is essential.
